Zlatan Ibrahimovic inspired AC Milan with a passionate locker-room speech after their thrilling 3-2 Super Cup comeback win over Inter in Riyadh.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic charged up his Milan teammates following their Italian Super Cup victory against Inter. The Rossoneri staged a dramatic comeback to win 3-2 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. After the match, Ibrahimovic delivered an emotional speech in the locker room, emphasizing the importance of winning and Milan’s identity.
Addressing the team, Ibrahimovic began: “We have achieved one of our objectives. What we were looking for was a reaction, and this is our reaction, guys.” He also praised head coach Sergio Conceição and his staff for their preparation: “Before speaking, I want to compliment the coach and his staff. In just a few days, you’ve done a great job (applause). It’s a good thing he had a fever; otherwise, he would have broken more than a television (laughter).”
Ibrahimovic applauded the players for their effort: “Congratulations also to the players (applause). You have won with sweat, sacrifice, and the desire to win. When a team has this desire to win, it becomes difficult to beat. I’ve always told you that everything depends on us, because everything is in your head, and today you’ve shown it.”
He then urged the team to maintain the winning mentality: “Now we go back to Italy, bring this mentality, and recover points to get where we need to be. I also want to congratulate everyone who was with us in the team circle (applause). Even if you aren’t famous and don’t play on the pitch, you’re just as important as those who do.”
Ending his speech, Zlatan reminded the team of Milan’s legacy: “Guys, this is Milan. We play for these trophies. Whoever wants to enter the history of Milan must win these cups. Now, on the count of three, go Milan: one, two, three, go Milan!”
