Zlatan Ibrahimovic criticized AC Milan for their self-inflicted Champions League elimination against Feyenoord, insisting the Dutch side was “not better than us.”
The Milan senior adviser expressed frustration over the team’s performance and the red card shown to Theo Hernandez during the 1-1 draw at San Siro, which saw Feyenoord advance 2-1 on aggregate.
Milan appeared in control after Santiago Gimenez scored inside the first minute, leveling the aggregate score at 1-1. However, Hernandez was sent off in the 51st minute for simulation, and Julian Carranza sealed Feyenoord’s qualification with a late goal.
Speaking to Sky, Ibrahimovic did not hold back.
“Feyenoord were not better than us, we just killed ourselves. We are disappointed. The referee has been severe with Theo Hernandez, with no warning before the red card. Theo is not an actor, he does his best.”
