Barcelona coach Hansi Flick has won his first three Clasicos and could soon match Pep Guardiola’s record of five straight victories against Real Madrid.
Hansi Flick is quickly carving out his legacy at Barcelona, and now he’s closing in on an iconic milestone: matching Pep Guardiola’s perfect start in 'El Clasico' matchups. The German coach has already beaten Real Madrid three times this season and could equal Guardiola’s record of five consecutive Clasico wins with two more victories.
Flick’s first season in Catalonia has already yielded two trophies — the Spanish Super Cup and Copa del Rey — and with Barcelona currently leading La Liga by four points with four games to play, a third piece of silverware is firmly in sight.
He began his Clasico streak with a 4-0 win at the Santiago Bernabeu in October, followed by a 5-2 triumph in the Super Cup final and a 3-2 victory in the Copa del Rey final. Not since Guardiola in 2009 has a Barça coach started so dominantly against their fiercest rivals.

Guardiola’s five-match winning start in the Clasico began in 2008/09 with a 2-0 home win, a legendary 6-2 away demolition, and a 1-0 win the following season. He extended it to five with a 2-0 win in 2010 and a historic 5-0 thrashing of Mourinho’s Madrid in November of that year.
Flick’s next opportunity comes this Sunday in a crucial La Liga clash. A win would all but seal the title and move him to four Clasico wins from four — one step closer to Guardiola’s benchmark. If successful, he could match the record next season in the first Clasico of the 2025/26 campaign.
Should he manage it, he’d join Guardiola as the only managers in Barcelona’s history to win five straight Clasicos to start their tenure. But for now, the focus is on Sunday — with silverware and a slice of history on the line.
