Mohamed Salah, Liverpool’s superstar forward, has admitted drawing inspiration from the “insane” dedication Cristiano Ronaldo has shown throughout his illustrious career.
The Egyptian also shared his admiration for other football legends and outlined his ambitious trophy targets with Liverpool.
Speaking to Liverpool’s official YouTube channel, Salah revealed his admiration for iconic players such as Ronaldo Nazário, Zinedine Zidane, and Francesco Totti. "I love the way Ronaldo [Nazário] was playing, and Zidane and Totti. These guys just enjoyed the game," Salah said. Reflecting on Cristiano Ronaldo, he added, "When I started playing in Europe, I saw the way he dedicated everything to football. The way he looks after himself is insane."
Salah had the opportunity to play alongside Totti during his two-year stint at Roma, which he described as an incredible experience. "Totti was incredible—his technique was insane. He’s also a very, very good person," Salah said.
Having already collected Premier League and Champions League winners’ medals, Salah is determined to add more silverware to his collection. "Win it all," he declared when asked about Liverpool’s ambitions. "We have an incredible group, one of the best in the world. In each position, we have top players. Why don’t we win it? This city and this club must always fight for everything."
Liverpool is enjoying a strong season, currently leading the Premier League by five points, progressing to the Carabao Cup quarter-finals, and maintaining a perfect record in the Champions League group stage. With an FA Cup campaign set to begin in January 2025, Salah and Liverpool are firmly in contention across all competitions.
