Florentino Perez is not holding back. Real Madrid's president is offering each player a stunning €1 million bonus if they win the Club World Cup this summer.
The tournament, now expanded and restructured by FIFA, kicks off in June in the United States and features significantly higher prize money and global prestige. With Madrid falling short in both La Liga and the Champions League this season, Perez sees this competition as a key opportunity to salvage the campaign and reward success handsomely.
FIFA has introduced lucrative incentives to elevate the tournament’s status. A group stage win brings $2 million, a draw earns $1 million, while qualification rounds range from $14 million to $40 million for the ultimate winner — in addition to the $33 million appearance fee.
Real Madrid’s squad is determined to bounce back after domestic and continental disappointments, and the U.S.-hosted Club World Cup provides the perfect stage to restore pride and lift silverware.
Perez is also looking at the bigger picture. This is the first edition of the revamped Club World Cup, and claiming victory would etch Madrid’s name into a new chapter of football history. The president’s bonus offer is designed not only as motivation, but as a statement: Real Madrid intend to dominate on the global stage.
