Sadio Mané and his 19-year-old wife Aisha Tamba have become parents for the first time, just 14 months after their marriage.
The news was seemingly confirmed by Al Nassr, Mané’s club in the Saudi Pro League, through a special post on social media.
In a video shared on Thursday, March 13, Mané was seen walking through the club’s facility while reciting a verse from the Quran. The recitation included Al-Kahf Ayat 46: “Wealth and children are the adornment of this worldly life, but the everlasting good deeds are far better with your Lord in reward and in hope.”
The club accompanied the post with a caption: “A new blessing for Sadio Mané! Wishing him and his family endless joy…Allah provided them with its righteousness, and made her one of His righteous servants.”
Reports indicate that Mané and Aisha welcomed their baby in Saudi Arabia, where they currently reside. While speculation suggests the child has been named Aissata, this has not been officially confirmed.
Mané, one of the highest-paid African footballers, has always expressed his love for family and fatherhood. In a past interview with Senepeopleplus, he shared his desire to have multiple children:
“Funny question. If it is just a choice, I would say 3 or 4. Except that it is God who decides, and I will thank Him no matter what.”
The former Liverpool and Bayern Munich star even left the door open for a bigger family, jokingly adding, “Maybe seven or eight children, you never know. Whatever the number is, I will accept it and thank God.”
Mané and Aisha’s love story has captivated fans, with their marriage deeply rooted in Senegalese cultural traditions. Both hail from the Casamance region, located 275 miles from Dakar. The couple reportedly met through family connections when Aisha was just 16 years old. Their marriage was arranged with full family blessings, with the agreement that they would wait until she turned 18 before making it official.
Aisha’s father has publicly praised Mané’s humility and deep respect for tradition, further strengthening the admiration fans have for the footballer’s personal life.
