Montenegro's football scene buzzes with excitement as young talent Viktor Đukanović is tipped for a substantial €8 million move from Hammarby to Italian club Sasuolo, potentially becoming one of the nation's most expensive players.
Viktor Đukanović, a young sensation from Nikšić, has captured the attention of Italian club Sasuolo after a stellar performance in Sweden's football scene.
Following the legacy of Montenegrin football greats like Dejan Savićević, Predrag Mijatović, and more recently Mirko Vučinić, Stevan Jovetić, and Stefan Savić, it's now the turn for new talents like Vasilije Adžić and notably, Viktor Đukanović, to shine.
According to Italian media reports, Sasuolo is keen on strengthening their left-wing position and sees Đukanović as a prime candidate. Negotiations with his current club, Hammarby, are ongoing, with the Swedish side setting a price tag of €8 million for the young forward. In his tenure in Sweden, Đukanović has made a significant impact, scoring 13 goals in 33 matches.
If the deal materializes, Đukanović could surpass the record set by Nikola Vukčević, who moved from Braga to Levante for €8.9 million, becoming one of Montenegro's most expensive players. This transfer comes in the wake of another notable move last year when Nikola Krstović swapped Dunajska Streda for the yellow and red of Lecce for €3.9 million.
The potential transfer of Viktor Đukanović represents not only a significant step in his burgeoning career but also a testament to the rising prominence of Montenegrin talents in the international football arena.
