Joao Gomes has signed a contract extension with Wolves until 2030, securing his future amid reported interest from Liverpool, Real Madrid, and Arsenal.
Wolverhampton Wanderers have taken a key step in securing the future of one of their standout players, with Joao Gomes signing a new long-term contract that runs until 2030.
The 24-year-old Brazilian midfielder, who arrived at Molineux in 2023 from Flamengo for €18 million, has enjoyed a meteoric rise over the past year. He has become a key figure in the Premier League, made his international debut for Brazil in March last year, and has now earned 10 caps for the Selecao.
Gomes' performances have not gone unnoticed. He has recently been linked with Liverpool, Real Madrid, Arsenal, and Manchester United, prompting Wolves to act quickly to extend his deal and strengthen their position ahead of the upcoming transfer window.
This season, Gomes has already made 31 appearances, scoring four goals, and continues to impress with his tireless work rate, tactical intelligence, and tenacity in midfield.
Wolves’ move to tie him down until 2030 is seen as a statement of intent, as the club positions itself more favourably for any future negotiations with Europe's elite clubs.
Before his move to England, Gomes had already made a name for himself at Flamengo, where he won multiple honours including the Brazilian Serie A, Copa Libertadores, Brazilian Cup, Supercopa, and the Campeonato Carioca.
