Real Madrid's teenage sensation Endrick, preparing for his first season at the club, reveals a surprising list of football idols, including Cristiano Ronaldo and two unexpected legends.
The recently turned 18-year-old Endrick is still adjusting to his new, star-studded life in Madrid. He recently became a full member of Real Madrid and joined the club on their pre-season tour of the United States, where he made his first appearances in the iconic white shirt.
Endrick is likely to make his official debut for the Spanish giants on August 14th, when Real Madrid faces Atalanta in the UEFA Super Cup in Warsaw. The club secured his signature two years ago for €60 million, but he had to wait until reaching adulthood before signing a professional contract.
While Endrick still needs to prove himself to manager Carlos Ancelotti, in a recent interview, he was asked to name five footballers who serve as his role models. His choices include two of his current teammates, as well as two names that might surprise many.
It's no secret that Endrick's biggest idol is Cristiano Ronaldo, and the Brazilian has often expressed that his dreams are coming true as he gets to wear the same jersey as the Portuguese star. He also included Jude Bellingham and Vinicius Junior, his new teammates, among his idols.
However, Endrick's list of idols also includes two surprising names: Ferenc Puskás and Sir Bobby Charlton. The legendary Hungarian and Englishman are iconic figures in the world of football, though Endrick, of course, could never have watched them play live.
