The former Liverpool manager admits he hasn’t visited Anfield since leaving, fearing he could bring bad luck to his former club.
Jürgen Klopp may have moved on from Liverpool, but the legendary manager still follows his former team closely. However, one thing he hasn’t done since his departure is return to Anfield—and he has a very specific reason for that.
The 57-year-old, who now holds an executive role at Red Bull, revealed that he is avoiding an appearance at Anfield due to superstition, fearing that his presence might bring bad luck.
"I haven't come to terms with it yet because I don’t want to bring bad luck! Imagine if I finally came and we lost right then?! I'll come when everything is decided," Klopp said.
Liverpool’s title charge without Klopp
Klopp’s former side is in an excellent position in the Premier League title race, and he is delighted to see them thriving under new leadership. However, he insists he will only return once the season is settled.
For now, Klopp will not be in the stands when Liverpool hosts Southampton, the bottom side in the league, for their next match. But it’s clear that his heart is still with the club he transformed into a European powerhouse.
