Frenkie de Jong has offered an insightful explanation of why Lionel Messi remains in a league of his own, highlighting the Argentine superstar’s remarkable consistency and unmatched skill set.
The Dutch midfielder, who shared the pitch with Messi during their time at Barcelona, described the eight-time Ballon d’Or winner as the best in every aspect of the game.
Speaking to Voetbal International, De Jong said: "I’ve never seen such a big difference between one player and the rest. Whatever we did in training, Messi was the best, always."
