Luka Jović, a forgotten man at Milan, delivered a derby masterclass with two goals to knock out Inter and send AC Milan into the Coppa Italia final with a 3–1 aggregate win.
Luka Jović has written an unlikely chapter in AC Milan’s season. With just 348 minutes played all year, the Serbian striker delivered when it mattered most—scoring twice to eliminate Inter and send AC Milan into the Coppa Italia final.
Heading into the semi-final second leg, few expected Jović to be the hero. But the 27-year-old, once labeled a Real Madrid flop, silenced critics with a clinical brace in a high-stakes Milan derby.
Jović struck first in the 36th minute, heading home a perfect cross from Santiago Gimenez. Then, early in the second half, he was in the right place again—slotting in from close range at the far post after a Theo Hernandez corner made its way through.
Inter had no answer on the night, and Tijjani Reijnders added the final blow in the 86th minute, calmly finishing a clever pass from Rafael Leao to make it 3–0 on the night and 3–1 on aggregate.
AC Milan now await their opponent in the final, which will be decided when Empoli face Bologna tomorrow at 21:00.
As for Jović, this performance may mark a turning point in a frustrating season—his tally now stands at four goals, but two of them couldn’t have come at a better moment.
