The father of Barcelona's young star and Spanish international Lamine Yamal is recovering after being stabbed.
Spanish media reported that Munir Nasraoui, the father of Lamine Yamal (17), a star player for Barcelona and a European Championship winner with Spain, was stabbed in a parking lot in the city of Mataró. Nasraoui was quickly transferred to the hospital, and new information has now emerged confirming that he is out of danger.
The police have taken over the investigation and managed to locate several witnesses to the incident. It has been confirmed that Nasraoui was involved in an argument on the street shortly before he was stabbed. The identities of three attackers are known, and they have been apprehended by the police. Spanish media also report that another suspect is still at large. A video of the altercation that preceded the stabbing has surfaced on social media.
Jamal's father, Munir, is originally from Morocco, while his mother is from Equatorial Guinea. Lamine Yamal is one of the top young talents in world football, with a market value of 120 million euros according to Transfermarkt. He has made 14 appearances for the Spanish national team, scoring three goals.
