Liverpool are closing in on a historic 20th league title, with fans preparing for a long-awaited victory parade through the city—something denied to them during the 2020 Covid season.

Liverpool fans are preparing for celebrations as their club edges ever closer to securing the Premier League title—one that would finally be lifted in front of supporters after years of waiting.

Arne Slot, in his debut season at Anfield, has guided the Reds to a commanding 13-point lead over Arsenal. A win over Tottenham at Anfield would seal the title with four games to spare, marking the club’s first domestic triumph since 2020.

That previous title win, under Jürgen Klopp, came during the Covid-19 pandemic, which meant no fans in stadiums, no public celebrations, and no trophy parade. This time, the city is ready to celebrate properly—and on a grand scale.

Liverpool’s final game of the season, a home clash with Crystal Palace on May 25, is expected to feature the official trophy lift. Plans are already forming for a major title parade on May 26, though not yet formally confirmed by the club.

The last time Liverpool held a major parade was in 2022, after winning the FA Cup and Carabao Cup. That nine-mile route wound through the city, featured three trophy buses, and ended in the city centre with scenes of fireworks, red smoke flares, and confetti cannons. DJ Calvin Harris, a lifelong Liverpool fan, even played live on one of the buses.

With this being the club’s 20th top-flight title, potentially matching Manchester United’s record, turnout is expected to be even bigger. Fans missed out in 2020, and this will be the first time the Premier League trophy is lifted at Anfield in front of a full stadium since May 1990.

Despite the buzz, Slot is keeping the squad grounded. "We are just focused on the training sessions... trying to prepare in the best possible way for Tottenham," he said after the win over Leicester. The Dutchman noted that players were granted a short break to recharge before the final push.

Should Liverpool get over the line in the coming days, May is shaping up to be an unforgettable month for both the club and its fans.
