Sky Sport reports that Viktor Gyokeres intends to stay at Sporting through winter but aims to join a top European club by the end of the 2024/25 season.
The German broadcaster Sky Sport has reported on what it describes as Viktor Gyokeres’ plan to leave Sporting after completing the current season. The Swedish international joined the Portuguese club from Coventry City about a year and a half ago for an estimated 24 million euros.
According to the report, Gyokeres has informed his representatives that he intends to remain at Alvalade during the winter transfer window but plans to make a significant move to a higher-level club at the end of the 2024/25 season.
It is important to note that the striker's release clause is set at a hefty 100 million euros. However, reports suggest that Sporting’s management, led by Frederico Varandas, would be open to negotiating a transfer for a fee in the range of 60 to 70 million euros.
The 26-year-old forward has attracted interest from some of Europe’s top clubs, including Barcelona, Real Madrid, Manchester United, Manchester City, and Bayern Munich.
