Slovenia’s U21 team, led by Milenko Ačimović, secures top spot in Group H and qualifies for Euro 2025, marking a historic achievement for the national team.
Slovenia’s U21 national team has achieved a remarkable milestone by finishing first in Group H of the Euro 2025 qualifiers. Thanks to a favorable result in the match between France and Austria, which saw Slovenia’s neighboring team victorious, Slovenia claimed the top spot in the group.
Under the guidance of coach Milenko Ačimović, the team has now officially qualified for Euro 2025, making it their first qualification through performance rather than as hosts.
In a highly competitive group with France, Austria, Cyprus, and Bosnia and Herzegovina, Slovenia managed an impressive campaign, recording five wins, two draws, and two losses, amassing 17 points. France finished second with 16 points, followed by Austria with 15 points. Cyprus and Bosnia and Herzegovina rounded out the group with five and three points, respectively.
This qualification is a landmark achievement for Slovenia’s U21s, marking their first earned entry to a major tournament. They previously participated in the U21 European Championship as hosts, but this time they’ve secured their place through a strong performance on the pitch.
